What is the VCAP Eight Week Degree Program?  Valley College Accelerated Program (VCAP) Eight-Week Degree Tracks are designed to meet the needs of busy students who want to earn an Associate Degree and/or Transfer Certification in two years. VCAP offers three  degree tracks, and can accommodate a variety of majors. Some majors may require traditional 16-week semester courses be taken in combination with VCAP track courses. 

How Do VCAP Eight Week Tracks Work?  VCAP makes it possible to personalize your education with eight-week evening and Saturday sessions; two in spring, two in fall, and one during the summer. Formats include online, hybrid (class and online combination), and        traditional classroom courses. How Can You Increase Your Transfer Chances?  VCAP offers Honors and Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) eligible courses on a regular basis. Honors courses may be advantageous for students desiring to transfer to select campuses within the UC system, and other private colleges and universities.  The VCAP Degree Tracks are:

  • Liberal Arts Degree (CSU & IGETC General Transfer GE/Liberal Arts AA Track) Three unit courses meet one evening per week and four 1/2 day Saturdays for eight weeks.  Five unit courses meet two evenings per week and every 1/2 day Saturday for eight weeks.
  • Economics Degree (Business/Accounting Transfer, Economics AA Track) Three unit courses meet one evening per week and four 1/2 day Saturdays for eight weeks. Five unit courses meet two evenings per week and every 1/2 day Saturday for eight weeks.
  • Liberal Studies Degree (Liberal Studies Pre-Teaching Credential and Pre-Nursing/RN AS Track) Three unit courses meet one evening  per week and four 1/2 day Saturdays for eight weeks. Courses with labs may meet one evening per week and every 1/2 day Saturday or Sunday for 16 weeks.
