Artist Reception for "Tautline" by Karl Burkheimer Art Exhibition

The LAVC Art Gallery is holding an artist reception for Karl Burkheimer for the exhibition of his new project titled tautline at the LAVC Art Gallery on Wednesday, September 19 from 6-8 p.m. in the Art building.

Tautline is a new project by Karl Burkheimer at the LAVC Art Gallery from September 19-December 6, 2018. Tension incites persistent adjustment, a provocation to engage. The rhythm of rebuffing eschews stasis, as previous acts elicit response. Over the duration of the exhibition, creative acts lose continuity as subsequent reactions conflate authorship, negating intent; tautline invites uncertainty through the public space of continuance, eschewing the apathy of comfort or knowable result.

In addition, LAVC Art Gallery Director Jenene Nagy is holding a walk-through of the tautline exhibit on Wednesday, October 24 at 12 noon.

Admission is free, and the exhibition is open to the public.

The Art Gallery is located in the Art Gallery Building. View campus map.
