MISSION STATEMENT

The Los Angeles Valley College Job Training Program will provide its participants the necessary knowledge and skills to meet employer requirements and improve their chances for advancement in the workplace. We will accomplish this by increasing the employment relevance of their education and enhancing their opportunities to gain work-based educational experiences that will lead to gainful employment.

Program Goals:
     • To improve the quality and supply of employees to meet the needs of         companies.
     • To create new resources with which to build the future programs and services         in education for the college.
     • To develop partnerships with local business and industry which contributes to         students' preparation for new and challenging opportunities in the workforce.
     • To turn dreams into actions…into achievements.
     • To focus on preparing students for opportunities in business and industry.
     • To bring educators and business leaders together in an effort to develop
        work-based motivation and experience through education.
     • To organize a convenient one-stop assistance center for advice, training, and         support.
     • To create marketing strategies for promoting greater involvement of business         in education.

The mission of Job Training is to provide and utilize comprehensive, coordinated College and community-based employment, training, and educational programs and services in support of economic development.

A description of strategic goals for the programs and services; measurable strategic objectives to fulfill goals; academic and economic development strategies to achieve objectives are to identify specific strategies that move the plan to fulfillment of its strategic measurable goals and objectives.
