Student Wireless HotSpot Access

  • Get a wireless card that supports the 802.11b (WiFi) protocol available at our Bookstore or any electronic store. Setup your card following the card instructions.
  • Start your browser and type any Web site address. Accept the security certificate and a logon box will open.
  • Enter your UIA username/password. Read how to find your UIA username and password in the frame below.

JTPA usage of lab computers

  • To login into a lab computer, use your UIA username and UIA password.
  • Read how to find your UIA username and password in the frame below.
  • Anything saved in the computer will be deleted when the computer is rebooted.

Finding your UIA username and password

    UIA usernames are:

  • the first 2 letters of the first name +
  • the first 2 letters of the last name +
  • the last 5 digits of the SIN

    UIA passwords are:

  • MonthDay of birth in school records.

    UIA account deletion:

  • The account will be deleted the day when your class ends

    Example:

  • Jose A. Garcia with SIN # 111-22-3333 born on January 11.
  • His UIA username is JOGA23333. His password is 0111.

TO INSTRUCTORS

  • All JTPA UIA accounts are generated manuallly and by request only.
  • The requests can ONLY be done by the JTPA department.
  • Requests must be done in advance.
  • Send your request to Pat Franco. You can contact him at francopw@lavc.edu or CSIT labs (Ext. 5559).
    ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE NEEDED.
    Accounts with incomple information cannot be created.
  1. Photocopy of class roster.
  2. Beginning and ending date for class.
  3. The roster must include FirstName, LastName, MiddleInitial, Last 5 digits of SSN and the Month/Day of birthday for each student.
