Unit Credit: Unit Credit is earned only during the first 5 or 6 weeks of summer school. Two units is the maximum number that you can earn during the summer session. The unit halves are as follows.

Paid Positions

 75 hours = 1 unit

 150 hours = 2 units

Interns (Unpaid)

60 hours = 1 unit

120 hours = 2 units

Requirements: You must be working during the 5 or 6 week summer session. Self-employed students are NOT eligible. You must complete at least one additional class during the summer session. Failure to do so will result in a “fail” in Cooperative Education.

Procedures: Students enrolling for the summer session must come to Bungalow 48 within the first week of the summer session to fill out an application. At this time you will be told how to plan your objectives with your supervisor, write them properly and get them in to the instructor. Besides the objectives that you will complete on the job you will be expected to complete an assignment and turn it in near the end of the summer session. This assignment will be given to you when you come in to fill out an application. The assignment grade and the grade your supervisor gives you on your objectives will determine the grade you receive for the Coop. Ed. class. An evaluation form will be sent to your supervisor for completion and must be returned to our office by the deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to turn their assignment in to the Cooperative Education Office (Bungalow 48) by the due date.

Important Documents (pdf format) MUST be completed and returned to the Cooperative Education Office no later than the third day of enrollment. Get Adobe Acrobat Reader free by clicking here.
