Coach De Simone enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Monarch's women's basketball program. Prior to LAVC, she served seven years as an assistant coach and exercise science instructor at Santa Ana College.

As a player, De Simone was a forward who played for Ventura College in 1998 and 1999. She received team MVP and was selected into the All-State Tournament Team in 1999. After Ventura College, De Simone  transferred to the University of California, Riverside, on a full athletic scholarship.

De Simone earned her Bachelor's degree in Studio Art in 2001. She received her Master's degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University, CA in 2004.
