A former starting forward for George Washington University, Val Khamenia, the pride of Belarus, arrives in Valley Glen ready to teach the tools needed to play Division I basketball. A former member of the Belarussian National Team, Val made the move to the United States where he walked into an entirely different world from which he had grown up.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science, the coach returned to Belarus where he enjoyed a brief stint at the professional level. Now a Valley resident, Coach Khamenia makes his home in Tarzana with his wife Alena, and three children Noelia, Nikolas, and Lucia.
